Kohima Police responded to a fatal road accident reported at Jakhama village on Wednesday morning, in which a motorcyclist lost his life after allegedly being run over by a dumper truck.

According to police, telephonic information regarding the incident was received at around 7:20 a.m., following which the duty party acted swiftly and intercepted the suspected dumper truck at PHQ point.

Police informed that the truck driver has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

The deceased motorcyclist was identified as Viboto Hibo (30), a resident of Viswema village, Z Khel.

Police stated that further investigation into the matter is underway and legal proceedings would be initiated as per law.
