The Nagaland Baptist Pastors’ Union (NBPU) has expressed deep sorrow and shock over the brutal killing of Church leaders belonging to the Thadou Baptist Association in Manipur.

Rev Dr Mongzeung Mpom, President, NBPU today denounced all forms of violence, hatred, intimidation, and bloodshed against innocent civilians and religious leaders. “The killing of innocent church leaders is not only an attack on humanity but also an assault on the sacred values of peace, dignity, and brotherhood taught by our Lord Jesus Christ,” he stated.

The NBPU extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Thadou Baptist Association, and all those mourning this painful tragedy and also expressed solidarity during this dark hour.

The Union also appealed to all communities, civil bodies, churches, and responsible authorities not to allow anger, propaganda, revenge, or misinformation to fuel further bloodshed.

“Let truth prevail through impartial investigation, and let justice be pursued through lawful and peaceful means,” it said and urged the concerned authorities to conduct a fair and transparent inquiry so that the perpetrators behind this horrific crime are identified and brought to justice.

The Union further reaffirmed its commitment to peace-building, reconciliation and the protection of innocent lives and called upon all believers to pray fervently for peace in Manipur and throughout the region.

“In moments like these, the Church must become a voice of healing rather than division, and a witness of hope rather than hatred,” it further said.
