Nagaland Police badminton team wins eight gold medals at All India Police Championship

A 12-member Nagaland Police Badminton team participated in the 2nd All India Police Badminton Cluster (Badminton & Table Tennis) 2026 at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh with effect from May 9 to 13 and won eight Gold Medals, two Silver Medal and two Bronze Medal.

The Nagaland Police Badminton Team secured 4th position in the overall medal tally.

Joseph Sumi, NPS who is a Sports Officer in Nagaland Police was able to successfully defend his title in the three categories GO Open Men’s Singles, GO 45+ Men’s Singles and GO Open Men’s Doubles for the second time.

Further, Nagaland Police Badminton Team conveyed a special appreciation to Director General of Police, Nagaland Rupin Sharma, IPS and his team of officers at Nagaland Police Complex, Chumoukedima headed by James Kinghen, IPS DIGP (Trg) and Camp Commandant, Ben Longkumer, NPS CO NAPTC, allowing Nagaland Police Badminton Team to participate in the 2nd All India Police Badminton Cluster (Badminton & Table Tennis) 2026 at Lucknow ,Uttar Pradesh.
