The Pangti Village GBs and Action Committee for PMGSY have directed the Contractor, M/S LPSS Infra to expedite the ongoing PMGSY Phase-III road construction from Mangmetong to Doyang and restore the damaged water supply pipeline to Pangti Village on or before July 31, 2026.

In a representation, signed by Renbomo Kikon, Convener of the Action Committee for PMGSY, and Nyimtsem Odyuo, Head GB of Pangti Village, addressed to the contractor following a general meeting convened by the GBs and Action Committee on April 21, the village authorities expressed concern over the slow pace of work and the hardships faced by commuters and residents.

They stated that formation cutting, culvert retaining walls, breast walls and side drains should be executed at a faster pace, noting that incomplete works have severely hampered vehicle movement during rains and caused inconvenience to the public.

They further stressed that workmanship must strictly adhere to required standards and would be monitored from time to time.

The representation also highlighted the prolonged disruption of Pangti Village’s water supply pipeline, which was reportedly snapped on November 12, 2024. They said urgent replacement of the damaged pipes was necessary as villagers have been compelled to purchase drinking water, reportedly spending over Rs 30,000 daily during the lean season from November to April.

The village authorities warned that failure to address the issues within the stipulated deadline would compel them to take further action, while stating that they would not be held responsible for any consequences arising thereafter.
