Kohima District Magistrate, B Henok Buchem, NCS, has declared a specific stretch of National Highway-29 (NH-29) a strict “No Parking Zone” with immediate effect to ensure public safety.

The order focuses on the highway stretch at Chainage 179+250 KM to 179+350 KM, located below the Belho Gas Godown. Off Road Trucks/Vehicles parked along the stretch must be cleared immediately. Any vehicle found violating this order will be towed away, and the owners will face penalties under relevant legal provisions.

The decision follows an official letter from the Executive Engineer of PWD (NH), NH DIV-I, Kohima, and recommendations from the Joint Verification Committee of NH-29. The measure has been implemented in the interest of public safety and smooth traffic flow.
