The 19th Rozgar Mela was held today at Dimapur under the aegis of Indian Railways, where 129 appointment letters were distributed to newly recruited candidates across various government departments.

The event was attended by Minister of State for External Affairs & Textiles Pabitra Margherita. At the national level, more than 51,000 appointment letters were handed over to youth across 47 locations through virtual mode by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of the nationwide initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, Margherita said the Rozgar Mela reflects the Government of India’s commitment to fast-tracked, transparent and merit-based recruitment. He noted that over 11 lakh appointment letters have already been issued through previous editions of the programme.

Congratulating the newly appointed candidates at Dimapur, the Minister described the occasion as the beginning of a meaningful journey in public service and urged them to remain confident, continue learning, and contribute towards nation-building.

He highlighted the transformation of the North Eastern Region under the leadership of the Prime Minister, stating that the region is being repositioned from a “frontier region” to a “front-runner of growth.” He also pointed to increased investments in connectivity, infrastructure and employment, supported by enhanced allocations for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER).

He also noted the commissioning of Shokhuvi railway station in Nagaland as the second railway station in the state after nearly 119 years, calling it a significant milestone in connectivity.

He added that Indian Railways has achieved nearly 99.2% electrification and is moving towards complete electrification under its national mission.

Concluding his address, the Minister congratulated the selected candidates and acknowledged the support of their families, saying their success reflects collective effort, perseverance and aspiration towards a “Viksit Bharat @2047.”
