The 1st Edition of the Tuensang District Futsal Championship 2026, which is being organised by Tuensang District Football Association (TDFA), commenced on May 29 at Nyenshen Futsal Arena organised, Tuensang.

Addressing the gathering,  President, Chang Wetoshi Setshang,  L Sanglekhumba drew a close connection between football and life, stating that both are filled with struggles and challenges. He remarked that those who overcome hardships ultimately emerge as champions and become legends.

Emphasizing the importance of unity and teamwork, he said that every member of a team from managers and players to supporters contribute to its success. He further urged players and officials to value and respect their supporters, describing them as the backbone of every team.

In his keynote address, President, TDFA,  Menyawongto stressed the importance of organizing futsal tournaments at the district level, stating that such platforms can create opportunities for young players to advance to the state level. He also highlighted that teams and clubs are the main stakeholders of the tournament and play a crucial role in the development of futsal in the district.

The oath-taking ceremony  was led by the Chairman of the Referee Board, TDFA, followed by match kicked off. Altogether, ten teams are taking part in the Futsal championship 2026.

The program was chaired by Toji A Chang, AGS, TDFA, invocation was led by  Bendang Sangtam, VP TDFA, and special presentation was given by  Lkyu Dance Studio.
