Aizawl FC registered a 2–0 victory over Nagaland United Sports Club (NUSC) in the Football for Peace Exhibition Match held on Saturday evening at Chümoukedima Football Stadium.

Played on the theme “Peace Pays”, the match brought together football fans, sports stakeholders, dignitaries, and supporters from across the region for an evening celebrating unity, friendship, and community engagement through sport.

Aizawl FC forward Zomuana proved to be the difference between the two sides, scoring in first-half stoppage time (45+3′) before adding a second goal in the 83rd minute by Fela, to secure victory for the visitors.

One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the tribute to the late N. William Koso, former Assistant Coach of Aizawl FC, football educator, and one of Nagaland’s most accomplished football coaches. Members of the Koso family were invited onto the game and presented footballs to both participating teams in honour of his legacy and lifelong contribution to football development in Nagaland and the Northeast.

The halftime programme also featured the unveiling of Coca-Cola Charged by Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio.

The organisers expressed their gratitude to the Government of Nagaland, participating teams, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and football fans whose support contributed to the success of the event.

Held under the Football for Peace initiative, the match once again demonstrated the ability of football to bring communities together while promoting the message that Peace Pays.
