Based on reliable source information received on June 18 regarding the movement of certain suspected self-styled underground faction members from Dimapur towards Kohima, Kohima Police immediately activated the Special Operations Team (SOT) and launched search operation to trace and apprehend the individuals.

During the course of the operation, the suspected self-styled underground faction members were successfully apprehended from the New Secretariat area under the jurisdiction of North Police Station. The apprehended persons have been identified as Senlo Khing (56 years), Self-Styled President, NNC/FGN (NA); Kitoho H Zhimomi (38 years), Self-Styled Kilo Kilonser, NNC/FGN (NA); and Tovito Kiba (29 years), Self-Styled Finance Kilonser, NNC/FGN (NA).

During the operation police seized two .32 calibre country-made pistol with two magazines and eleven live rounds; one .22 calibre country-made pistol with one magazine and five live rounds; one Mahindra Scorpio bearing Registration No. AS-26-3373; cash amounting to Rs 48,500; and four mobile phones, besides other incriminating documents.

In connection with the seizure of illegal arms and other incriminating articles, a case has been registered at North Police Station. Further investigation into the matter is underway to ascertain the motive, network, and possible involvement of other associates.

Reiterating its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of the public, Kohima Police requested citizens to continue cooperating with law enforcement agency and share any information relating to unlawful activities.
