District Administration in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, Longleng conducted a Training programme for Master Volunteers/Nasha Mukti Mitras under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on June 19 at VDB/VCC hall Longleng.
As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), a training programme for Master Volunteers/Nasha Mukti Mitras was successfully conducted in Longleng district to strengthen community-based efforts against substance abuse and promote a drug-free society.
The programme aimed to equip volunteers with the necessary knowledge, skills, and strategies to raise awareness on the harmful effects of drug and alcohol abuse, identify individuals at risk, and facilitate access to counselling, treatment, and rehabilitation services. The participants were sensitized on the objectives of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and their role in mobilizing communities towards prevention and early intervention.

Resource person, T Shahnyu Phom, highlighted the growing challenges posed by substance abuse and emphasized the importance of community participation in addressing the issue. Sessions covered topics such as awareness generation, counselling techniques, communication skills, community outreach, and reporting mechanisms under the campaign.
The training witnessed active participation from Master Volunteers/Nasha Mukti Mitras representing various villages and institutions across the district. Participants expressed their commitment to spreading awareness and supporting the district administration in combating substance abuse.
