Mokokchung DPDB adopts TB patients, every department to support nutritional care

In a significant humanitarian initiative, the Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has resolved to adopt tuberculosis (TB) patients across the district by providing them with nutritional support, with every government department committing to adopt at least two patients.

The decision was taken during the monthly DPDB meeting held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on June 26 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS.

To facilitate the initiative, the Board decided that financial contributions for nutritional support would be collected by District Planning Officer N. Chuba Phom and subsequently handed over to the Medical Department through the DPDB for implementation.

The meeting began with a review of the minutes of the previous meeting and discussion on the Action Taken Report.

According to DIPR news, the Board also approved the registration of three local societies: Society for Economic Elevation and Development (SEED), Changdang Village; MI-Tzü Sustainable and Conservation Society, Alongkima; and Falcon Club, Mangkolemba.

During the meeting, Assistant Commissioner and Nodal Officer for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), Dr. Madhavi R, IAS, presented an overview of the district’s observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The Executive Engineer of the Water Resources Department also delivered a PowerPoint presentation on the department’s ongoing activities and infrastructure projects.

The Board entrusted the Rural Development Department with presenting its departmental activities at the next DPDB meeting.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Verma expressed gratitude to all board members for their cooperation and financial support towards the district’s goal of achieving a TB-free Mokokchung.
