The Lions Club of Dimapur Elite has declared its flagship “Sarv Jeev Sewa – Hunger Relief Project” as a permanent monthly service initiative after successfully conducting year-long hunger relief activities that benefitted thousands of people and promoted humanitarian service across Dimapur and adjoining areas.

Under the leadership of President Lion Meena Jain and the coordination of Chairperson Lion Prity Jain (Mona), the club carried out 12 Hunger Relief Projects and food distribution drives during the Lionistic Year. The initiatives were regularly documented and shared through the club’s social media platforms by Lion Sakshi Jain Binaykia.

The food drives were organised at various locations, including Gurudwara Langar, Deaf Biblical School for the Deaf, Gauri Shankar Mill in Bokajan, Shani Mandir, Jain Temple Terrace, Mother Teresa Old Age Home, Prodigal Home Fellowship Colony, Shiv Mandir at Rangapahar, Ananda Vatika Farmhouse in Khatkhati, besides several other community service locations.

The project aimed to provide nutritious meals and essential food support to underprivileged families, senior citizens, children, daily wage earners and even stray animals, reflecting the club’s commitment to compassion and humanitarian service.

Club members actively participated in preparing and distributing cooked meals, dry ration kits and other essential food items, ensuring that assistance reached those in need.

Encouraged by the overwhelming response from the community and the positive impact of the initiative, the club has resolved to institutionalise the Sarv Jeev Sewa – Hunger Relief Project as a permanent service programme to be conducted every month.

According to the club, the decision reflects its continued commitment to serving the needy, promoting kindness and ensuring sustained community outreach.

The year-long initiative also reinforced the Lions Clubs International motto, “We Serve,” while encouraging social responsibility, community welfare and compassion towards every living being.
