The installation ceremony of the board of directors of Lions Club of Kohima for the Lionistic Year 2026-27 was held in the state capital on June 27.

The incoming board of directors including the club’s President-elect Talitemsu Jamir, Secretary-elect Max Marius Menuse-O, Treasurer-elect Kaikho Dawman, First Vice President-elect Ketoukholie Whuorie and Second Vice President-elect Akhrienuo Kire took oath, administered by Lion Dr. Neena Dutta, District Governor (Elect), District 322D, as the installation officer.

Gracing the occasion, Dutta emphasized the theme “Be the Crown of Service” with the vision “More Service More Quality Members.”

She reminded the gathering that “the crown is a universal symbol of honor, responsibility, and leadership. In Lions Club, our highest honor is not power or position, but service. Remember that the real crown is not made of gold, but of the good deeds we do for humanity.”

She added that wearing the District Pin and DG Medal carries a reminder that “service is our highest achievement and that every Lion can be a shining crown in the community. True leadership is service. To ‘Be the Crown of Service’ means to wear kindness, compassion, and selfless giving as your greatest honor.”

Five-time president of Lions Club of Kohima, Oken Jeet Sandham shared his experiences of his terms, read out the profile of DGE and later handed over the gavel and charge of the meeting to incoming president Talimenren Jamir.

Jamir delivered his presidential address. Earlier, S.P. Francis chaired the program while Rheituohunuo Whuorie led the flag salute. This was followed by the invocation and secretary’s report. Dr. B. Imli Wapang proposed the vote of thanks.
