The District Congress Committee (DCC), Youth Wing and Mahila Congress, Kiphire have expressed serious concern over the quality of ongoing road construction works under the Capital Investment programme, alleging the use of substandard materials.

Following an inspection conducted on July 4, the Congress leaders raised objections to the execution of road works along the 202 Junction–Lower Tizu Road and the New Yongti Junction–Pungro Town stretch.

The committee alleged that low-quality construction materials were being used, resulting in substandard execution of the projects.

It urged the concerned department and competent authorities to immediately conduct a thorough verification and inspection of the ongoing works to ensure that proper standard and quality materials are maintained.

Warning of further action, the committee stated that if the concerns are not addressed promptly, it would be compelled to initiate appropriate measures in accordance with the demands and interests of the general public.
