A dissemination programme on the HIV & AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017 was held at the CMO Conference Hall, Longleng, on July 8. The programme was organized by DISHA Longleng and sponsored by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS).
The programme aimed to create awareness among civil society leaders and student/youth leaders on the provisions of the HIV & AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017, while promoting greater understanding of HIV prevention, control, and the legal rights and protections guaranteed under the Act.
The resource persons, K Bongyei Phom and L Yingloi Phom, delivered informative sessions highlighting the importance of creating an informed and stigma free society. They spoke on HIV prevention and control measures, the responsibilities of communities in addressing HIV related issues, and the legal implications of the Act, including the protection of the rights and dignity of people living with HIV.

The speakers encouraged participants to become advocates for awareness in their respective communities and institutions by disseminating accurate information, combating stigma and discrimination, and supporting efforts to prevent the spread of HIV.
The programme concluded with active participation and interaction from the attendees, reaffirming the collective commitment of stakeholders towards building an informed, inclusive, and supportive society through awareness, education, and legal protection.
