Governor of Nagaland Nand Kishore Yadav on Sunday called upon the youth to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship and responsible leadership while preserving the state’s rich cultural heritage, saying that diversity remains one of Nagaland’s greatest strengths.

Addressing the Youth Conclave-cum-Cultural Fest 2026 as the chief guest at the Town Hall, Dimapur, the Governor commended the Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland for organising the event, describing it as a meaningful platform that celebrates the state’s cultural diversity and promotes harmony among different communities.

He observed that Dimapur, the gateway to Nagaland, has evolved into a vibrant meeting point of cultures, languages and traditions, where diversity continues to enrich the social fabric of the state.

Congratulating the organisers for bringing together members of various non-Naga linguistic communities residing in Nagaland, Yadav acknowledged their significant contributions to the state’s economy, education and social harmony. He said such collective efforts strengthen the spirit of unity, inclusiveness and peaceful coexistence.

Addressing the youth, the Governor said they are not only the custodians of their cultural heritage but also the architects of Nagaland’s future. He encouraged them to equip themselves with knowledge, skills and an entrepreneurial mindset while embracing innovation and responsible leadership. Rather than merely seeking employment, he urged young people to become job creators and contribute to the state’s socio-economic development.

Stressing the importance of unity in diversity, Yadav said that identity should serve as a force that unites people rather than divides them. He called upon citizens from all communities to work together with empathy, mutual respect and innovation, adding that the progress of Dimapur and Nagaland depends on the collective efforts of all sections of society, irrespective of language or community.

The Governor expressed hope that the Youth Conclave would strengthen friendships, inspire fresh ideas and motivate young people to contribute meaningfully to society.

Congratulating the organisers, awardees and participants, he said that just as a rainbow derives its beauty from its many colours, Dimapur shines because of its diversity. He urged everyone to continue celebrating differences, strengthening unity and working together for a brighter future.
