The monthly meeting of the Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was successfully conducted on July 30 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall. The session was chaired by Metsubo Jamir, Minister for Rural Development & SIRD, Government of Nagaland, who also serves as the Chairman of DPDB Mokokchung.
The proceedings commenced with a thorough review of the minutes from the previous meeting, followed by an official discussion on the Action Taken Report.
During the session, the board officially approved the registration of three societies: Life Anew Foundation (Unger village, Mokokchung District), Mokokchung District Disabled Association and Langpangkong Development Board (Chuchuyimlang).
The house also deliberated on several critical agendas aimed at regional growth. Key discussions focused on incomplete centrally and state-sponsored departmental projects across the district, the construction of welcome gates at the Tsutapela and Tuli state borders, and the progress of the Nagaland Special Development Zone (NSDZ). Additionally, the board reviewed the current status of the Circuit House in Mokokchung and evaluated LADP Iconic Projects spanning from 2019-2020 to 2025-26. The LADP schemes for the 2026-27 period were formally approved during the meeting.

Other vital matters discussed included financial support for the upcoming Dr T Ao Inter-District Football Tournament Silver Jubilee 2026, an updated status report on the district’s disaster situation, and a review of funds collected for Nikshay Mitras under the TB Mukt Bharat initiative. Work distribution responsibilities for the upcoming August 15 Independence Day celebrations were also finalized.
Later in the session, the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation detailing their ongoing departmental activities and community initiatives.
The meeting, was also attended by Daochier I. Imchen, Advisor for Information & Public Relations (IPR) and Soil & Water Conservation, and was concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB Mokokchung.
