Niuland District Administration held a review meeting on District Water and Sanitation Mission for utilisation of the 16th Finance Commission (FC-XV1) Tied Grants, on August 10 at DC’s Conference Hall, Niuland. During the meeting, officials from the Department of PHED and RD gave a comprehensive presentation on the various schemes and projects that are being implementing in the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Niuland, T L Kiusumong, while chairing the meeting acknowledged that many officers are still holding charges of Niuland, Chumoukedima and Dimapur districts and urged them to balance the challenges and to be more proactive in the meetings.

Executive Engineer PHED Rural Division Dimapur, Nirie-e Nisa gave a comprehensive Power presentation on 16th finance commission (tied grants). She was focused on operation and maintenance at the village level on schemes or projects completed by the concerned departments. She also elaborated on the role and functions of WATSAN and Village Council.
Paudwal Elunglung, SO II RD department, while delivering an overview of the department’s role in implementing the 16-finance commission tied grants, emphasised on the grant allocation, role of VDBs, basic grand breakdown (tied & untied) convergence with national & state schemes and on planning & accountability.
