Mokokchung district officially launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026’ on August 13 with a vibrant bike rally, marking the countdown to India’s 80th Independence Day with pride, patriotism, and the fluttering tricolor.

The high-spirited rally was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex. Senior Superintendent of Police, Vesupra Kezo was also present at the ceremony.

Speaking at the event, DC Ajit Kumar Verma highlighted the deep national significance of the rally. He noted that the initiative is part of a nationwide celebration designed to showcase India’s unity and collective strength.

“The National Flag is a symbol of respect and pride for the nation, representing the very face of our country,” DC stated.

The DC reminded citizens that the Government of India has relaxed the Flag Code of India, allowing everyone to proudly display the National Flag at their homes and workplaces for this historic milestone. He thanked all the riders for their enthusiastic participation.

Concluding his address, the DC urged the community to use this occasion to renew their commitment to National Unity and integrity, Stronger Brotherhood across communities, Celebrating Unity in Diversity.

Following the address, the bike rally commenced from the DC’s office complex. Led by the DC and the Sr. SP, the convoy of tricolor-clad motorcycles rode through the heart of the town.

The rally proceeded through the following route before its conclusion: DC Office Complex (Starting Point) – BOC Area – Public Ground – Main Police Point (Culmination)

The event successfully ignited the spirit of freedom across Mokokchung, setting a patriotic tone for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
