Longleng District officially launched “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign 2026, on August 14 with the assembling of HoDs, Government Officials, uniform personnel, Schools students, Nagaland Motorcycle Club and Infra Ride (Taxis) at public ground, Longleng.

On the eve of Independence Day, the Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom NCS, briefed on the activities under the Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign, stating that the initiative aims to encourage citizens to hoist the National Flag at every home.

He recalled that the campaign was launched in 2022 to coincide with the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. He said that apart from formal government use, the Government of India has encouraged the use of the National Flag at the personal level. As part of the celebration, the national flag can be flown in each and every house, adding that amendments have been made to the Flag Code of India to facilitate wider public participation.

He urged the participants to display the National Flag sensibly and with due respect, while also encouraging and popularizing its use as a symbol of the country’s freedom and independence.

Later the rally was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner Longleng, W. Manpai Phom NCS, in the presence of Superintendent of Police, Yanger Jamir and other senior officials. The rally begins from public ground and culminated at the DC’s office complex, Longleng.

Superintendent of Police Longleng, Yanger Jamir, in his concluding remarks highlighted the evolving significance of the National Flag and urged the younger generation to uphold its dignity. He said that while students may not be aware, the use and display of the Indian National Flag was governed by strict rules in the past. Today we have the privilege to hoist and display the Tricolour with pride, but we must not misuse it, he added.

He also stated that the National Flag is a symbol of the country’s sovereignty, unity and sacrifices of freedom fighters. He called on students to respect the Flag Code of India, display it with pride on national occasions, and take responsibility to protect its honour.

KIPHIRE:

Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign, 2026, begins at Kiphire on 14th August, 2026, with the objective of promoting the spirit of patriotism, national unity and active participation in the HAR Ghar Tiranga Campaign.

The March commenced from the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire and proceeds towards Police Point Tuensang Road Junction and return to the DC Office Complex, covering the designated route as directed by the District Administration.

The March was, led by the Police Department, Education Department and Dobashis.

PUNGRO:

In Pungro, public rally on “Har Ghar Tiranga” was conducted on 14th August 2026 from 8:00 AM, commencing from State Bank of India, Pungro to Additional Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Pungro in view of the upcoming 80th Independence Day celebrations 2026.

The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from the public, officials and various stakeholders, promoting the spirit of patriotism, national unity and pride in the Tricolour.

SHAMATOR:

Along with the rest of the country, Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was held at Shamator on 14th August 2026, commencing from DC’s office, Shamator. The campaign was led by the Deputy Commissioner, Arikumba, NCS and Superintendent of Police, Suresh Shinde, IPS. The awareness rally on Har Ghar Tiranga was attended by all HoOs, DEF Shamator, 3rd NAP Shamator, 32 Assam Rifle battalion and students.

Earlier, SDO Civil Shamator, Athrong proposed the welcome address and briefed about the importance of the National Flag and its significance urging every Indians to embrace it with pride and honour. The rally made a significant symbol by displaying National Flags across Shamator town.

TULI:

As part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, a Tiranga Rally was held in Tuli Sub-division, Mokokchung on 14th August 2026. The Campaign was led by ADC Tuli, Imsenperong Wati, NCS witnessed participation from Heads of Offices, Dobashis, students, youths and members of the Tuli Town Council.
