Molupong Longkumer from the Department of English and Langmai Khumla from the Department of History were crowned Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2026, respectively, during the Freshers’ Day programme of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, held at the college auditorium on August 18.
The programme, organised to welcome the Class of 2026, was held on the theme “Chasing Dreams.” The informal session featured four rounds-Ethnic, Casual, Formal and Question, following which Molupong and Langmai emerged as the winners.
Addressing the freshers, Principal Dr I Wati Imchen encouraged the students to make their college years meaningful by actively participating in campus life and exploring their interests beyond academics. He said college should be viewed not only as a place to obtain a degree but also as an opportunity to develop confidence, resilience and a sense of purpose.

FACSU General Secretary Imdangmeren told the freshers that they need not have their entire future figured out at the beginning of their college journey. He encouraged them to remain open to new experiences and opportunities, noting that their aspirations could change as they progressed through college.
Speaking on behalf of the freshers, Molongnen Longkumer, BSc 1st Semester, expressed gratitude for the welcome extended to the new students and described the occasion as the beginning of a new chapter in their academic journey.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Akumzulu Jamir, Assistant Social Service Secretary, FACSU.
