The Mokokchung Division of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Youth Wing successfully organised the “One Nagaland Run 5K” Mokokchung District event today under the theme “Running Together, Growing Together.” The event, held under the initiative of the NPF Central Youth Wing, Nagaland, saw more than 80 participants gather early in the morning to promote fitness, unity, and athletic talent across the district.
Participants assembled at the Rotary Club House Junction for registration and pre-race preparations. The program officially commenced with an opening prayer offered by Marchizung, Vice President, NPF Mokokchung Division.
The 5-kilometer race was formally flagged off at 5:30 a.m. by Apong Pongener, Advisor to President NPF and Chief Minister. The route took runners from the Rotary Club House Junction to B.O.C and concluded at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex.

Following the completion of the run, a formal prize distribution ceremony was conducted at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex. The program was hosted by Imlinungba, General Secretary, Youth Wing Mokokchung Division.

During the session, short speeches were delivered by Apong Pongener, Advisor to President NPF & Chief Minister, and Rongsentoshi Jamir, President, Mokokchung Athletics.
The official vote of thanks and closing prayer were delivered by Takonungsang, President, NPF Youth Wing, Mokokchung Division.
The event featured cash prizes and citations for the top three finishers in both the Men’s and Women’s Open Categories, with ₹5,000 awarded for first position, ₹3,000 for second position and ₹2,000 for third position. In addition, a special cash prize of ₹1,000 each was presented to the youngest and oldest participants who completed the entire route, exclusively among participants from the Mokokchung Division of the NPF Youth Wing. Two participants who finished as the second-youngest were also awarded cash prizes along with certificates.

1st Place: Sungtiyala C Imchen
2nd Place: Jemie P
3rd Place: Opanglemla Jamir
Special Awards:
Youngest Finisher: Putiyanger (12 years)
Oldest Finisher: Limayanger (56 years)
Two Second Youngest participants were also awarded: Metsulong & Lanutemjen Kichu (both 13 years)
