Alumni Association of SJC (A) Jakhama inducts new office bearers

Members of the newly inducted office bearers of the Alumni Association, St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Jakhama led by Thepfuvizo Peter Vizo as President, after the induction ceremony at Jakhama on August 25.

The induction ceremony of the new office bearers of the Alumni Association of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama for the term 2026-29 was held on August 25 at the College.

The new team of executives would be led by Thepfuvizo Peter Vizo as President, P Edward Patton as Vice President (General), Yhunsinlo Tep as Vice President (Administration), T Audrey Jasokie as General Secretary, Dr Emilo Kikon as Joint Secretary, Medolenuo Ambrocia as Treasurer, M Mathew Yhome as Finance Secretary, Zayienuo Tetso as Statistical Secretary and Max Marius Menuse-O as Media Coordinator.

The Search Committee comprised Thejanuo Fidelia as Convenor and Zubemo Humtsoe and Vikayo Swu as members.

Administering the pledge of commitment to the new team, Dr Fr George Keduolhou Angami, Principal of the College, reminded them that through the platform of the alumni association, they should act as a bridge between the past, present and future.

Terming it a reunion, Fr George urged them to remember the roots of the College, which means remembering its values, and to acknowledge that their time, experience, expertise and membership are a benefit to the institution.

Expressing hope that the continued service of the Alumni Association would be inspirational, the Principal further informed that 2028 will be the year for renewal of autonomous status of the college while

2029 will be the NAAC binary accreditation.

Thepfuvizo Peter Vizo, who would continue for the second term as the Association’s president, shared his vision, stating that under “Connect – Strengthening the Bond”, efforts will be made to build a stronger, updated and active database of all alumni and strengthen chapters in Kohima, Dimapur and beyond.

He stated that the alumni would support the college through mentorship, career guidance and placement support for current students by leveraging the alumni network.

Vizo stated that a welfare fund would be formalized to support alumni and students in times of genuine need while under “Celebrate – Our Identity,” he stated that the annual Alumni Meet will be made more meaningful and a grand celebration will be organized to showcase the contributions of Josephites to society.

Earlier during the programme, Dr Sr K Ketoukhrieu Lese, Vice Principal (Academic Affairs) of the College invoked God’s blessings; Zuchanbeni Lapon and Ruokuonuo Kesieo delivered the General Secretary’s report and financial report of the association respectively; Thejanuo Fidelia, Convenor of the Nomination Committee and members Zubemo Humtsoe and Vikato Swu declared the names of the new office bearers. Kiviboto Sheqi, Media Coordinator, chaired the programme while the vote of thanks was delivered by P Edward Patton, who will also continue for a second term as the Vice President of the association.
