School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema conducted Idea Presentation as part of Smart India Hackathon on September 3.
A total of 12 teams took part in the Hackathon where the students presented solutions on different problem statements viz. Al-Assisted Early Detection System for Osteoarthritis (OA) Risk Markers in North Eastern Region (NER), tourism industry for NER, Smart education, AI-enabled learning platform, Flash Flood Prediction System for Hilly Regions using Multi-Source Data Theme, procurement system for farmers, Al-powered Intelligent Assistant for Indian Standards and BIS Services for Industries and Consumers, AI-Based early warning and landslide Risk Monitoring System in NER, AI- driven Scheme matching for marginalized Entrepreneurs, A Digital Capacity Building and Learning Management Portal, Intelligent Land Record Digitization and Validation System, Al-Powered Automatic Block Planning to Maximize Asset Availability for Train Operations on Indian Railways.

Each team consists of 6 members with at least one female member. The idea presentation was judged by a panel of 3 members viz. Er Shanchamo Yanthan, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, Er Akangjungshi Longkumer, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Er Sudipta Patowary, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology. The selected teams will be screened through the SIH portal and qualifying teams will represent the Institute at the SIH Grand Final in the month of December 2026 at the national Level.
During the program, Er Shanchamo Yanthan, SPOC for Smart India Hackathon expressed his profound gratitude to Prof N Venuh, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema and Prof Sujata Dash, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University for their support in organizing such activities which provided a platform to the B Tech students to express their creativity and innovative talents.
