The Students Placement Cell, Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus, organised a Mental Well-being Workshop and One-to-One Counselling Session on September 3 with the aim of promoting mental and emotional well-being and encouraging a supportive campus environment.
The morning workshop, held at the Multipurpose Hall, was primarily organised for students under the Deeksharambh Programme and was conducted by Janthunglo Ngullie, Counselling Psychologist. The session focused on understanding mental well-being, coping with stress, managing academic as well as personal pressures and about building healthy relationships and support systems.
It also addressed common misconceptions about mental health and encouraged participants to reflect on what they were experiencing, what they needed and whom they could reach out to for support.
The workshop received an enthusiastic response, with students actively participating in discussions, reflective activities and an anonymous question-and-answer segment. Participants described the session as beneficial, educational and an eye-opener, particularly appreciating the opportunity to introspect and develop a better understanding of mental health.
The afternoon One-to-One Counselling Session, held at the Students’ Placement Office, was open to students, faculty members and staff. The confidential counselling facility also received a very encouraging response with participants availing themselves of the opportunity to seek individual guidance and support.
