The District Youth Resources & Sports Office, Mokokchung has officially announced that the Mokokchung District Level Youth Festival would be held on September 23. The festival aims to showcase young talent across the district and will feature competitive events in Folk Song, Folk Dance, and Declamation.
The DYRS office has invited all interested individuals, clubs, cultural troupes, higher secondary schools, and colleges across Mokokchung district to participate. Interested parties must submit their letter of interest to the District Youth Resources & Sports Office on or before September 21.
The age limit for all participants must be between 15 and 29 years of age.
The Winners of the district level will undergo an online screening round. The best eight individuals or teams from each event across Nagaland will be selected to represent their respective districts at the State Level Youth Festival in Kohima.
The Selected state-level participants will arrive in Kohima on September 28, compete on September 29, and depart on September 30.
Participants must present their Aadhaar card during registration for the state level. TA/DA will be reimbursed as per government-approved rates.

Event Categories and Rules:
Folk Dance (Group Event):
Team Size: Maximum of 10 participants per team (boys, girls, or mixed).
Style: Must be a primitive or traditional folk dance; ballets are strictly prohibited.
Time Limit: Maximum performance time of 15 minutes, with an additional 5 minutes allowed for stage setup.
Music: Pre-recorded music is not permitted. Accompaniment must be live.
Submission: Teams must submit three copies of a brief note explaining the theme and song text at the time of registration. Teams are also responsible for clearing their own sets immediately after performing.
Judging Criteria: Based on rhythm, choreography, costumes, makeup, sets, and overall effect.
Folk Song (Group Event):
Content: Must be a traditional Indian folk song in any regional language. Film songs and medleys are completely barred.
Time Limit: Maximum performance time of 7 minutes, with up to 5 minutes allowed for setup.
Declamation (Solo Event)
Theme: “Youth, Skills and a Self-Reliant Nagaland”
Language: Restricted to either English or Hindi only.
Time Limit: Each participant will be allotted a maximum of 5 minutes to deliver their prepared speech on the given theme.
