Nagaland youth urged to join Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2027

Young people across Nagaland have been urged to participate actively in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 and contribute their ideas towards the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

The call was made during a press conference at Hotel Japfu, Kohima, on Thursday, where State Director, MY Bharat Nagaland Alphonce Toppo, Director, Youth Resources and Sports Kethosituo Sekhose, State NSS Officer Ruokuovituo Zatsu and District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Kohima Pradeep J highlighted the opportunities available to young people through the national programme.

Organised by MY Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, the VBYLD 2027 National Dialogue              would be held from January 10 to 12, 2027, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The programme would engage youth aged 15 to 29 years through six thematic tracks — Viksit Bharat Challenge, Cultural Track, Hack for Social Cause, Youth Entrepreneurs Challenge, Youth Parliament and Design for Bharat.

The Viksit Bharat Challenge would progress through a series of stages, beginning with a digital quiz, followed by essay writing, district-level presentation rounds, the State VBYLD and finally the National Dialogue.

The digital quiz is scheduled from August 17 to September 30, followed by the essay round from October 5 to 15. District-level PPT rounds would be conducted from October 27 to November 16, while the State VBYLD is scheduled from November 17 to December 7. The National Dialogue would be held in New Delhi from January 10 to 12, 2027.

Nagaland is part of the North East Frontier Region (Purvodaya), comprising Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Sikkim and Tripura. The regional theme for the programme is “Act East, Cultural Leadership & Enhancing Connectivity.”

The Cultural Track would be conducted at district, State and national levels in physical mode, covering folk dance, folk song, painting, Nukkad Natak and poetry writing. The District Youth Festival is scheduled from September 1 to October 31, 2026, followed by the State VBYLD from November 17 to December 7 and the National VBYLD from January 10 to 12, 2027.

Officials called for coordinated efforts among district administrations, educational institutions, youth organisations, MY Bharat-NSS and other youth networks to ensure broad-based participation from Nagaland.

The State is also expected to facilitate participation in the Viksit Bharat Quiz, organise district-level rounds and ensure representation from all districts at the State VBYLD, providing Nagaland’s youth an opportunity to present their ideas, creativity and solutions on a national platform.
