Lein Bridge temporarily restored, opened to light vehicles

The Deputy Commissioner, Noklak, P Mono Khiamniungan has informed that temporary restoration of Lein Bridge located along the Noklak-Panso Road via Lengnyu/Tsuwao is completed and opened for vehicular movement.

In a travel advisory, the DC stated that the bridge is presently motorable for light vehicle only. All commuters, vehicle owners and drivers are advised to maintain a safe speed, avoid overloading and use the bridge with due caution and safety measures, he added.

Further, DC request the public to extent their co -operation and comply with the  advisory in the interest of safety and disaster risk reduction.

It may be mentioned that  on July 19, 2026, due to the heavy rain in the upstream, the bridge collapsed which made the  surrounding villages cut off the line completely.

With the timely intervention of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Noklak,  Road and Bridge Department ( R&B) and village council of Lengnyu and Tsuwao village, the temporary wooden bridge Measuring 57 feet long and 10 feet wide was constructed within a short period of time.
