The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nagaland, on Thursday announced a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17 to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday and mark his completion of 25 years as a constitutional head.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP Nagaland head office in Kohima, MLA and Advisor, Er Kropol Vitsu said the party would observe the occasion as a period dedicated to public service, guided by the mantra “Jan Seva Hi Prabhu Seva” (service to humanity is service to God).
Vitsu said BJP workers across the country had traditionally observed the Prime Minister’s birthday as ‘Seva Pakhwada’. However, he said this year carries added significance as Modi is set to complete 25 uninterrupted years in public service as a constitutional head on October 7, 2026.
He highlighted Modi’s political journey from Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 to Prime Minister of India since 2014, and outlined various welfare and development programmes implemented during this period.
According to Vitsu, government initiatives have focused on poverty alleviation, food security, healthcare, housing, financial inclusion, agriculture, women and youth empowerment, digital services and infrastructure. He cited claims of 25 crore people being lifted out of poverty, free ration support reaching 80 crore citizens, more than 55 crore people gaining access to healthcare under Ayushman Bharat and over four crore permanent houses being provided to economically weaker sections.
He also pointed to India’s response to terrorism and its growing role in addressing global challenges, while highlighting national programmes aimed at the socio-economic development of tribal communities.
On science and technology, Vitsu cited achievements including the Mangalyaan mission, Chandrayaan-3’s lunar landing and the Aditya-L1 mission, along with the growth of India’s space-startup ecosystem. He said the country now has more than 400 space startups, compared with one in 2014.
He further highlighted the modernisation of the railway network, dedicated freight corridors, Vande Bharat trains, expansion of airports and initiatives such as Digital India, PM Gati Shakti, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and Make in India.

Vitsu also referred to the Rashtriya Innovation Challenge as an opportunity to encourage young people to develop technology- and innovation-driven solutions in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
Emphasising that the goal of a developed India cannot be achieved by one leader or government alone, he called for greater participation from citizens.
“The greatest tribute we can give to this idea of a developed India is not merely to celebrate its achievements, but to become responsible contributors to the nation’s future,” Vitsu said, urging citizens to adopt the principle, “My country’s progress is my responsibility.”
He said the BJP’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan would seek to reinforce the party’s emphasis on public service and contribute towards the vision of a prosperous, inclusive and developed India by 2047.
BJP Nagaland celebrates PM Modi’s birthday across the state
BJP Nagaland celebrated the birthday of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi through various Seva-oriented programmes across all 14 organisational districts and 60 Mandals of the State.
The celebrations were attended by senior party leaders, including the State President along with former Ministers in Dimapur, Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton in Wokha, Minister Temjen Imna Along in Kohima, Minister, Bashangmongba Chang in Tuensang, and Adviser & MLA, Kropol Vitsu in Kohima.
As part of the celebrations, blood donation camps were also organised in Dimapur, Kohima and Mokokchung, with BJP karyakartas actively participating in the spirit of service.
The State BJP reaffirmed its commitment to the spirit of “Seva Hi Sangathan”, dedicating the occasion to serving the people and strengthening grassroots outreach across Nagaland.
