The District Health Society, Longleng, conducted a Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Outreach Camp at Yongam Village on September 17 as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen community-based healthcare delivery and ensure access to essential healthcare service for the population.

The camp was organised with the objective of bringing comprehensive healthcare services closer to the community, with particular emphasis on reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health. The initiative aimed to promote early detection of health conditions, encourage timely healthcare seeking behaviour, and improve awareness regarding preventive and promotive healthcare practices.

During the camp, a range of essential healthcare services was provided, including Antenatal Care (ANC), Postnatal Care (PNC), Family Planning Services, Immunization, TB screening and other health activities. These services were aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of women, children, and other community members while promoting the importance of regular health check-ups and preventive healthcare.

A total of 108 beneficiaries availed themselves of the healthcare services provided during the camp, reflecting the importance of communitylevel health initiatives in improving access to essential medical care.

The MCH outreach Camp also served as an important platform for health education and counselling, encouraging community members to adopt healthy practices and seek appropriate healthcare services whenever required. Such initiatives play a significant role in bridging gaps in healthcare access and strengthening the delivery of primary healthcare services at the grassroots level.
