Care-Taker/Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Saramati Region, NSCN (IM), C Süchu Jacob has appealed to the Tikhir and Yimkhiung communities to maintain peace, harmony and mutual respect following the recent violence in parts of Kiphire district.
Expressing concern over the unfortunate incident, Jacob urged members of both communities to exercise restraint and refrain from any actions that could aggravate tensions or lead to further confrontation.
He emphasised that the two communities shared a common history, deep-rooted cultural and social ties, and a longstanding spirit of brotherhood, adding that these bonds were more valuable than any differences or misunderstandings.
While acknowledging that the past could not be undone, Jacob said both communities could collectively choose the path of peace, understanding and reconciliation to prevent further harm and rebuild mutual trust.

He appealed to tribal bodies, community leaders, youth organisations, civil society groups and concerned citizens from both communities to promote dialogue, discourage rumours and provocation, and work towards an amicable and peaceful resolution of the dispute.
Stressing that the safety and well-being of the people must remain the foremost priority, he urged all concerned to ensure that the unfortunate incident did not weaken the relationship, unity and integrity binding the two communities together.
Jacob maintained that differences should be resolved through mutual understanding and constructive dialogue rather than confrontation or violence.
Calling for wisdom, dignity and mutual respect, he expressed hope that the Tikhir and Yimkhiung communities would preserve their longstanding brotherhood and strengthen their relationship for future generations.
