The Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Mokokchung (ENPUM) has appealed to citizens of Eastern Nagaland to maintain peace, discipline and sportsmanship during the final match of the Dr T Ao Trophy Silver Jubilee Edition 2026, scheduled to be played between teams from Mon and Tuensang districts.

In a statement issued by its general secretary, Nohochem Sangtam, ENPUM extended a warm welcome to citizens of Eastern Nagaland gathering in Mokokchung to witness the final match, scheduled for 5:30 pm on October 29 at Renpo Lu Sports Complex, Ungma.

Noting that the two finalists represent their own people, the union appealed to fans and spectators from both sides to uphold mutual respect, brotherhood and the true spirit of sportsmanship.

ENPUM encouraged everyone, irrespective of tribal affiliation, to support and cheer both teams in a spirit of unity and fellowship. It stated that while competition was an integral part of sports, it should never come at the cost of relationships, dignity and brotherhood.

The union also urged all citizens of Eastern Nagaland to maintain discipline, respect fellow spectators and refrain from any act, conduct or statement that could disturb peace or bring disrepute to their people or neighbouring communities.

ENPUM stated that its office would monitor the situation and take serious note of any misconduct or behaviour that could tarnish the image of Eastern Nagaland in Mokokchung.

Expressing hope that the final would be a celebration of unity, peace and sporting spirit, the union said that while the best team should win, brotherhood and unity should ultimately prevail.
