A police bus belonging to the 3rd Nagaland Armed Police (NAP), carrying passengers from Tuensang who were returning after watching the Dr T Ao Trophy final match in Mokokchung, met with an accident near the Dikhu River on October 30, reportedly due to brake failure.

The bus had been providing free transportation to spectators travelling to watch the final match of the Dr T Ao Inter-District Football Trophy.

According to the Superintendent of Police (SP), Mokokchung, the accident occurred near the Dikhu River, before reaching the Dikhu Bridge. Three persons sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Chare, for treatment.

The SP further informed that another bus was arranged to transport the injured passengers to Tuensang and confirmed that all three were reported to be doing well.

No casualties were reported in the incident.
