In another significant political development, T Yangseo Sangtam, the deputy speaker of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), and Thongwang Konyak, MLA, resigned on Monday.

In a notification issued on Monday by the NLA Secretary-in-charge, the speaker of the NLA accepted the resignation of the two members and declared their seats vacant.

It may be mentioned that Sangtam is an independent MLA from the 60-Pungro/Kiphire Assembly Constituency (AC) while Konyak is an NDPP MLA from 46-Mon town AC.
