In another political development ahead of the Nagaland state elections, Alemtemshi Jamir, one of the founders and working president of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), has resigned from the party on 2 February.

In a letter addressed to the president of the party, Jamir stated “My contributions in establishing NDPP as a regional party in Nagaland has been disregarded and I have been denied a party ticket in the current election”.

It is disheartening that the party has disregarded all the visions, dreams and aspirations upon which the party has been established, he said and resigned from the active and primary membership of the party.
