The United Sangtam Baptist Lithroti Ashimϋkhong (USBLA), on Friday, held a prayer programme for all intending Sangtam candidates from 59 Seyochung-Sitimi Assembly Constituency (AC) and 60 Pungro-Kiphire AC for the upcoming state assembly election at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall in Kiphire.
Kashiho Sangtam, BJP candidate from 59 Seyochung-Sitimi AC; Kipili Sangtam, National People’s Party (NPP) candidate from 59 Seyochung-Sitimi AC and Yangseo Sangtam of the Republican Party of India (RPI) from 60 Pungro-Kiphire AC attended the programme.
Sharing the word of God, Imtiba emphasised the principles of the clean election campaign and its ethics under the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) to the three candidates and added that ‘irrespective of the different political ideologies, one should have good friendship and brotherhood as true leaders stand for the good of common people’.
A Bible was also handed to all three candidates before a word of prayer was pronounced by the USBLA team for the candidates.

Speaking during the allotted time to share their constructive thoughts, Yangseo Sangtam emphasised upholding peace and development in his constituency as there are different communities settled in the district.
My priority is to maintain a good relationship with all tribesmen so that development can be inclusive, not divisive, he added.
Core focus will be on creating employment opportunities for youths, emphasising skill development, Start-Ups, entrepreneurship, self-employment, promote eco-tourism, build indoor stadium in the district to boost sports avenues, Yangseo stated
Kashiho Sangtam also stated that his top priority, if voted to power, will be peacebuilding and development for all and added that under his short term as a minister, he has given the best of his capacity to bring development in his constituency.
Adding that more development is in the pipeline, he assured to fulfil them if voted to power this election.
Meanwhile, Kipili Sangtam encouraged the gathering to respect all religions and communities. He assured to bring about a progressive administration under his leadership taking the church, student community, and tribal organisation hand-in-hand in bringing about better change and progress.
The programme was attended by the AST president and her colleagues, main agents of the three candidates, and USBLA staffs.
