An Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme was conducted in Tuensang Town from 6 March to 11 March 2023 where youths were provided crash training on banana fibre, post-harvest and self-electrician.

The first of its kind training was organised by Sangtam Baptist Lithro Youth Ministry, Tuensang Town in collaboration with Nagaland Tools and Training Centre, Dimapur under Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program (ESDP) sponsored by Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India.

Over 90 unemployed youths attended the entrepreneurship training.

In the programme for ‘Natural Fibre Processing & Handicraft Making’, Thsidilong Sangtam provided resourceful knowledge on extraction of banana fibre and making products such as baskets, bags, and others with the fibre. Sangtam mentioned that banana fibre creates zero waste as the waste fibre can be used in the cultivation of mushrooms.

Merhil Rhetso briefed the trainees on connection of mainline, circuit, cut- off, earthing and others related to electricity in the training on ‘Assistant Electrician (House Wiring)’.

In the post-harvest programme, Cham taught the youths ways to preserve and make quality products with the raw products available in hand. The trainer demonstrated how to make pickles, chips, candles and preparing fast-food.
