Team Fuzz lifted the 7th edition of the Master Shield Trophy, organised by Mokokchung District T20 Cricket Federation (MDT20CF), at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on 17 March.

The final match of the tournament witnessed Team Fuzz and Dynamic Sports Active (DSA) against each other for the coveted trophy. The former, winning the toss, elected to bat first.

Team Fuzz’s Sanjay, Santosh and Sunep outplayed their opponents as the trio posted 31, 31 and 23 runs respectively, while Dipankar and Rahul Kumar of DSA claimed 3 wickets each.

Team Fuzz collected a total of 166/6 in 20 overs.

Chaman of DSA has made a quickfire half-century but the rest of DSA’s batting line-up failed to fire to the variations from Team Fuzz as openers – Shamphri, Andrew and Raja Lama – posted DSA with just single digits to their sides.

Though Dipangkar and Rahul Kumar of DSA contributed 32 and 31 runs to a total score of 93 runs, – Raja, Bidesi and Sunil – of Team Fuzz claimed 4, 2 and 2 wickets each to win the match in just 16.4 overs by 73 runs.

In individual prizes, the best batsmen went to Chaman of DSA, best bowler to Phyodemo KPEDEN, promising player to Nehal of Trebuchet, man of the series to Andrew of DSA and man of the final match to Raja of Team Fuzz.

The champion – Team Fuzz – received a sum of INR 40,000 with citation, while the runner-up received INR 25,000 with citation.
