NSCN parties led by Khango Konyak and Akato Chophy signed an MoU on 22 April 2023.

The National Socialist Council of Nagaland groups led by Khango Konyak and Akato Chophy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday to work together in defence and also in the political dialogue with the Government of India.

The MoU incudes joint military defence in an event of assault or threat to the parties or to any of their members by ‘any domestic or foreign enemies’.

The NSCN groups also decided, in “LETTER AND SPIRIT”, ‘to pursue the political dialogue under one platform with the GOI, towards achieving Permanent Solution to the vexed Naga Political issue, in the interest of both the parties and the Nagas in general.’

The MoU was signed by the chairmen of both parties and by their respective general secretaries and it states 21 April 2023 as the “Effective Date”.
