The Assam Rifles on Monday organised a Plastic Free Zone Campaign at International Trade Centre (ITC), Dan Village, Old Pangsha and New Pangsha Village, Noklak District with the aim to spread awareness about the ill effects of plastic on the environment.

The program was conducted at Straightway Mission School and Government Primary School, ITC, Dan Village, in commemoration of World Environment Day which is on 5 May 2023.

Earlier on Saturday, the Shamator Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) /7 Sector AR had organised a tree plantation drive at Government Middle School, Chokla Village, Noklak. Each student was made responsible od taking care of one sapling.

Besides the plantation, AR also provided urinal pots and fire extinguishers to promote Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Noklak District.
