Following massive landslides occurring early this week between Changtongya-Longleng, clearing of debris from the road may likely continue. Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji has therefore issued another travel advisory.
In a press release, the DC informed that in view of the massive landslides which have occurred on 26 and 27 June 2023 along NH 702 at locations KM 0.0 to KM 16.592 between Changtongya-Longleng, total restriction of movement of all kinds of vehicles along the aforementioned route is continued to be imposed.
“Clearance of the debris is likely to take around 4 to 5 days starting from 27th June 2023,” the release added.
Travelers have been therefore advised to avoid taking the said route or take the alternative route during the stated period via Longleng-Chingtok (IR Camp)-Netnyu, Merangkong.
