Fire Evacuation cum Mock Drill conducted at FCI-Food Storage Depot Mokokchung

Mokokchung: Drill aimed to educate participants about safety and precautionary measures to be followed when using fire safety equipment

Fire Evacuation cum Mock Drill was conducted at FCI-Food Storage Depot in Mokokchung with an aim of ensuring the safety of the depot and maintaining the food security of the nation on 8 July,2023. The event was jointly organized by the Divisional Office of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) in Dimapur and the Fire & Emergency Services Department of the Government of Nagaland.

The drill involved the participation of various personnel, including the staff, security personnel, laborers, and truck drivers of FCI Mokokchung. The Officer-in-charge of the Fire Station in Mokokchung led the drill and provided instructions to the participants.

The primary objective of the drill was twofold. Firstly, it aimed to assess the operational readiness of the fire safety appliances located in the godown which ensures that the fire safety equipment is in proper working condition and can be effectively utilized in case of a fire or any other emergency situation. Secondly, the drill aimed to educate the participants about safety and precautionary measures to be followed when using fire safety equipment.

FCI and the Fire & Emergency Services Department demonstrated their commitment to maintaining high safety standards in the food storage depots across the country. This initiative was taken to contribute to the overall safety and security of the nation’s food supply, protecting it from potential threats and emergencies.
