Mokokchung DPDB mulls opening coaching centre to assist district’s youths for state public exams

Mokokchung: House decides to undertake significant renovation work at Multi-Purpose Stadium in Mokokchung

The Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) convened its monthly meeting on Thursday at the DC Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Tongpang Ozukum, Advisor Water Resources, Government of Nagaland, and Chairman DPDB Mokokchung.

DIPR informed that during the meeting, Chairman Ozukum informed the board members about the establishment of a coaching centre to assist candidates from the district in preparing for the NPSC and NSSB exams. The coaching centre will be funded through the District Common pool fund.

The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed, and the board unanimously agreed to organize a civic reception in Mokokchung in honour of the Chief Minister of Nagaland. Regarding the shifting of the NST (Nagaland State Transport) office to ISBT Yimyu, the Chairman entrusted the Deputy Commissioner to inspect the building and coordinate renovation works with the concerned departments. The Chairman also informed the members that the Urban Development Department has assured action on the posting of an Urban Development Officer in Mokokchung.

The District Skill Committee presented a proposal for a Job Fair Event in Mokokchung through a detailed PowerPoint presentation. The Minister for Rural Development and SIRD (State Institute of Rural Development), Metsübo Jamir, Advisor IPR (Information and Public Relations), and Soil & Water Conservation, Imkong L Imchen, along with other members, offered their views and suggestions on the potential of the event.

Furthermore, it was resolved that departments would deliver PowerPoint presentations in future DPDB meetings. The Deputy Commissioner assigned the H&FW and Agriculture departments to present in the next meeting.

Additionally, the house decided to undertake significant renovation work at the Multi-Purpose Stadium in Mokokchung in preparation for hosting the North-East Badminton & Table Tennis Championship later in the year.
