Under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), the Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) conducted a comprehensive training program on Scientific Beekeeping at Lengnyu Village. The event aimed to empower beekeepers with modern techniques for increased honey production and sustainable livelihoods.

Phem Shiu and Francis Kikon from NBHM served as resource persons for the training. Phem Shiu emphasized the significance of beekeeping as a lucrative income-generating opportunity. He encouraged beekeepers, especially those from Lengnyu Village, to embrace modern methods of Scientific Beekeeping, which promise to produce superior quality honey. The NBHM assured full support to the beekeepers in their journey towards success.

During the training, Francis Kikon shed light on the benefits of using Scientific Beekeeping Boxes. These modern boxes enable multiple harvests in a single year, leading to increased honey yields. The participants gained insights into the behavior of bees and learned the latest beekeeping techniques. The training also encompassed post-harvest management of honey and its efficient packaging. Particular attention was given to employing machinery for honey extraction without harming the bee hives.

The participants actively engaged in hands-on learning, gaining practical experience in the training program. As a boost to their efforts, beneficiaries received scientific bee boxes and essential equipment to enhance their beekeeping endeavors.
