The Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Panchayat (AKMWP), in a press release, acknowledged and extended appreciation on the tireless efforts rendered by the Fire and Emergency Services, 1st Assam Rifles, Kohima Village Youth Organisation (QRT), Traffic police personnel and all concerned for their tireless fight and containing the massive fire at Peraciezie High School Colony, Kohima on September 9.

A press release issued by Kopelo Krome, Press and Media Secy, and Thejao Sekhose, President, also expressed concern on the need for precautionary and safety measures in such cluster buildings/shops so that damages and loss of properties (lives) can be minimised at any given unfortunate incidents.
Over a hundred shops were burnt to ashes and several residential buildings were damaged by the fire that broke out in the wee hours of 9th September. The Kohima Fire Brigade along with volunteers fought the inferno for over 12 hours.
Earlier, the High School Traders Union, Kohima had thanked the Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO), Lhisemia Youth Organisation (LYO), Lhisemia Council and QRT (Kohima Village), Fire Department Kohima (North, South and Chiephobozou), Traffic Police Kohima (North), Peraciezie Youth Organisation, Peraciezie Baptist Church and under the command of Col SBB Sharma, Commandant, 1 Assam Rifles, Kohima for their swift action and helping hand.
A special mention has also been made to Ward 1 High School Panchayat and Rhüdezou Council for their efforts during the tragic incident.
