The GBM being the first since after the party won a resounding victory in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections earlier this year, the House expressed gratitude to the people of Nagaland for reposing faith in NDPP and Peoples Democratic Alliance (PDA). It congratulated Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for returning as CM of the State for a record fifth consecutive term.
The House complimented the party leadership for “enabling” two women candidates in becoming representatives to the Assembly. Further, it acknowledged the 14th NLA members for tabling the “Nagaland Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Bill 2023 which has been referred to the select committee with the inclusion of 33% reservation for women.”
NDPP, in its resolution, also appreciated other political parties for supporting Rio’s leadership and enabling an opposition-less government with the “sole purpose” of accelerating solution for the Indo-Naga political issue.
It also thanked the members of the 14th NLA for the decisions taken on the controversial Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and the Forest Conservation Amendment Act (FCA) “that could be detrimental to the future of Nagaland”.
Furthermore, the party congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and GoI for successfully presiding over the G20 and for the recently concluded G20 summit in Delhi. “This shows the vast progress India has made globally and the recognition and respect the advanced nations now have for India,” NDPP said in its resolution. It also congratulated the people of Nagaland for the success in hosting one of the B20 summits in the State.
Moreover, the House complimented PM and GoI for the successful landing of “Chandrayan – IlI” on the Moon calling it “a historic red letter achievement for India”.
Lastly, the House resolved to work tirelessly “Towards a state of excellence” and further appealed the people of Nagaland for continued support. “The NDPP stand steadfast in our promises and commitments of our party manifesto and will strive towards building a brighter, vibrant and richer Nagaland,” it stated.
