A five days program on piggery management for rural youth has been organised by the ATMA & KVK Kiphire, from October 3 -7.
With Lipichem, DPO LRD as the Special Guest, the program was held at the Conference Hall of the DAO Kiphire.
Speaking at the training program, the Special Guest appealed the participants to be a part of the movement to uplift the economy of the District by taking part actively in piggery management. Sharing his experience, Lipichem stated, “There is nothing like farming because it gives us health and nutrition security. We are confident and happy when we eat what we grow.”
With places like Kiphire still deficit in meat production, Lipichem mentioned that it is upto the local populace to fill in the gap to meet those requirements.
He also assured to extend all possible help in the upliftment of rural youth through livelihood activities who are keen in taking up livestock production.

During the seminar, Senti Longchar DHO Kiphire, and Nzanthung Yanthan DFO Kiphire delivered brief speeches.
The program was chaired by Khumdemo Ezung, Sr scientist KVK Kiphire while Limaakum Ao, DPD ATMA welcome the gathering.
In the technical session, poultry management, cultivation of maize, winter vegetable, livestock and fish farming system, Agro metrological advisory, demonstrate of mushroom cultivation and FSSI licence and Start ups were discussed.
