Following the State Government’s assurance on “actively considering on clearing all pending payments” on or before October 31, the proposed indefinite ‘chakka bandh’ has been called off by the commercial vehicle owners association of four districs namely, Mokokchung,Tuensang, Zunheboto and Longleng.

According to a press release issued by the Association, the bandh was called off after the State government “replied positively to the demands made by the association”. The association stated that as assured by the government, they will wait till October 31, to see if the demands are fulfilled. However, the Associations further cautioned that it will continue with the proposed bandh if the government fails. The association has also expressed their gratitude to the general public for the support and cooperation extended.
