On day eight of the ongoing 31st Edition Loyem Memorial Trophy held on October 24, the first match was played between Rise of Strangers and DEF Tuensang. The match was held at the Loyem Memorial Astro Turf Ground, Tuensang at 12.

During the first match, the first goal was scored by DEF Tuensang. Both the teams were close to scoring another goal in the dying minutes by hitting the crossbar. At the end of the match DEF Tuensang won the first match with a score of five goals against three goals by Rise of Strangers.

Despite the windy and cold weather, the ground was fully packed with football enthusiasts. The second match was played between Tiaren Football Club against Vetao Ayie Football Club. Both the teams played competitively where they scored one goal each, which landed in a draw with both Tiaren FC and Vetao Ayie FC booking a place in the semi- final match.
