Assam Rifles commemorates National Unity Day

On the occasion of National Unity Day, the Assam Rifles under HQ 7 Sect, IGAR(N) organized a community-focused initiative of a mid-day meal event for the students of the Government Medium School in Nyasa Village. This event, under the motto ‘Savouring Education, Serving Potential’, aimed to nourish the young minds while motivating them towards education, informed the AR Press release.

A total of 196 students were served nutritious meal. On the occasion of National Unity day, the children were also informed on the importance of the day being celebrated. “This event not only strengthened Assam Rifles as a dedicated and community-oriented force which is committed to serving in times of peace and crisis but also in supporting the well-being and education of the local youth,” informed the press release.

In another press release, the Miao Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted series of events at Miao, Kharsang, Changlang Arunachal Pradesh  and Zunheboto, Nagaland which included the “Pledge of Unity “

To cultivate unity and foster team building skills among school students & local population, the Assam Rifles orchestrated a lecture and a series of educational team building activities and a walk proclaiming the Importance of Unity on the auspicious occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.

The initiative was designed to underscore the significance of unity and the transformative power of collective effort. The event featured a screening of a short film on Sardar Vallab Bhai Patel, whose birth anniversary is commemorated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. The film served as a beacon of inspiration for the students, illuminating Patel’s pivotal role in India’s struggle for independence and his unwavering commitment to national integration.

According to the Assam Rifles, it firmly believes that such initiatives can mould young minds and nurture a sense of unity and team spirit.The event was witnessed by 47 students, 21 Teachers of Sacred Heart and JMC & ARPS School Zunheboto, 45 Civilians and 198 Troops of Assam Rifle.
